Inaugural "Dinkin' for the Clubs" Pickleball Tournament Benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta

Bank of Commerce proudly presents the inaugural "Dinkin' for the Clubs" pickleball tournament, an event dedicated to supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta. Scheduled for June 21st and 22nd, 2024, at Wagner Park in Greenwood, this tournament promises an action-packed weekend of competition and fun.

An Exciting Lineup of Activities:

Pickleball enthusiasts from across the region are invited to participate in a series of engaging matches while contributing to a meaningful cause. The tournament kicks off on Friday, June 21st, with Mixed Doubles under the glow of a Full Strawberry Moon. Participants will enjoy an evening filled with spirited gameplay, a shrimp boil, refreshing beverages, lawn games, and music.

On Saturday, June 22nd, the excitement continues with Men's and Women's Doubles matches, followed by a BBQ lunch provided by Caleb Cox of By the Bridge Bistro. Attendees can look forward to breakfast to start the day right, along with beverages, lawn games, and music throughout the event.

A Collaboration for Impact:

"We are so excited about our first pickleball fundraiser and hope people from the Delta and beyond will join us for this fun weekend in Greenwood," says Hart Henson, Resource Development and Business Manager for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta. "We are proud to partner with a locally owned bank committed to our mission, Clubs, and communities, so we are incredibly grateful to the Bank of Commerce for their support."

Tournament Director Marko Lovrinovic has designed a format that ensures everyone's participation and enjoyment. Each participant is guaranteed a minimum of three matches per event, with draws structured to maximize playing opportunities. Skill levels will be carefully managed to ensure fair and competitive gameplay, with players required to register according to their highest-rated partner's skill level.

Registration and Logistics:

Registration options include Friday-only Mixed Doubles for $80, Saturday-only participation for $105 (including breakfast and BBQ lunch), or a two-day package for $135, covering all events and amenities. Snacks, water, and Gatorade will be provided for tournament participants, ensuring they stay fueled and hydrated throughout the competition.

In the event of inclement weather, the tournament will be relocated to the Twin Rivers indoor facility, ensuring uninterrupted gameplay and enjoyment for all participants. A flexible refund policy is also in place, allowing withdrawals up to May 17th, 2024, and facilitating player substitutions up to the day before the event.

Community Support:

"We at Bank of Commerce are excited to partner and support the efforts of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta," says Timothy Stanciel, Vice President and CRA Officer of Bank of Commerce. "We feel that Boys and Girls Clubs are a vital part of our community by supporting and influencing our youth in Leflore County and beyond. They make many efforts to develop and equip our young people with skills and resources they would need now and in the future. On behalf of Bank of Commerce, we would like to thank them for all they do."

About Bank of Commerce:

Since 1904, Bank of Commerce has been here for the great people of Mississippi. We were here for our customers during the Stock Market Crash of 1929. When other banks closed their doors, Bank of Commerce remained open because the community knew their money was safe here. We were here for our customers through The Great Depression and two world warsβ€”actively selling war bonds and serving civilians and soldiers stationed nearby.

About Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta:

Since 2002, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta has offered time-tested and proven programs to the youth of the Mississippi Delta with one goal: to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
